There is another square patch here

This is no ice nor water, it is a patch of asphalt of different color. Quite literally a patch for a place where old asphalt was likely removed or destroyed and then replaced.

To be fair, patches are generally expected to be of darker color compared to the asphalt surrounding them. This meanwhile looks more like the whole rest of the road was replaced quite recently while the light gray bit was left untouched for some reason or other.
