Separate from the private/custom coop threads I have seen, I feel that in regular online games, you should be able to customize personal settings like if you only want to play as insurgents or only want night scenarios, you can set that and get matched with people with matching settings. I feel like that would also get you in with more people who want the same/similar play style to you.
