I've been watching gameplay of the Surge 2 demo by multiple content creators and one thing I've noted is the disparity in weapon balance and movesets. For example, as demonstrated by FightinCowboy on his run-through of the demo, the spear moveset is overpowered. The rapid triple thrusting combo allows you to stagger enemies with ease, and the overhead twirling move allows an infinite stunlock upon enemies with no drawback. On the other hand, two-handed heavy weapons' slowness is a massive drawback. The first horizontal swing has a huge windup time that allows enemies to get free hits in, and heavy weapons have been shown to be almost totally unviable against the Little Johnny boss fight because the boss' legs lift up before the slow windup time can complete and you can swing. IMO, these two weapons must be rebalanced ASAP.
