If you spam click your fire support as it's coming off cooldown sometimes you can call it in just before the current barrage is officially over. As the last fire support finishes up this cancels your fresh call-in and gives you an odd chat message. Notice the chat log:

The new call-in won't be consumed or go on cooldown, you're just forced to request it again.
