Bug Report: Cannot load Gang (Skirmish/Operations) anymore

Hello there,
is there a way to repair my main gang? After an hour of looking I still havend found a fix that works.
Any Input and advide is much appreciated.

On what platform did the bug occur?
PC

On which Game mode did the bug occur?
Loading Gang from Main Menu for Operation / Skirmish

If the bug occurred in Story, on which chapter did it occur?
no

If the bug occurred during a mission, what Objective and Map were you playing on?
no

What were you doing before reproducing the bug?
Creating / deleting gangs to check Skill-Wordings on "Dummy"-Leaders, while watching Videos on Builds. Jumping back into the game, it was stuck on 50% (Loading Screen). I forced the game to quit and ever since then I cannot load my (main) gang.
I can create new gangs and play, no problem.

Were you able to reproduce the issue multiple time ? If so, does it occur all the time (100%)?
Tried reloading the gang multiple times. (Loadscreen goes 25% > 50% > 100% then I am back in the Main menu)
Tried restarting the game / steam.
Tried Steam game file repair.
Tried (Backup &) deleting files under SaveGames -> for the steam backup.
Tried to replace the Gang File with the GangGangBkp File (I think it is Gang_1)
100% Failure. Nothing worked

Maybe it helps you play offline, create a new gang and reload this old gang and possibly delete the cache..a combination of all this?
This helps me on XBONE..Think we are both a step from Corrupted saves away 😬

first of all -> big thanks for the input my friend. 🙂

I tried a few things, going offline and deleting files. But that didn't work. Not sure how I could delete my cache on PC though - maybe there is a silver lining in this - I can deleted my save-files, is that what you meant?

All in all I think(!) my local file, as well as any online/steam backups, have gotten corrupted (too quickly for me to manually intefere.) And now I can only hope to repair it somehow.

Btw. do you have the same issue, or is your gang still doing shifts?

Also @Emperor_of_Mankind feel free ... at any moment ... now, would be great 🙃

I could only start by playing offline new operations,
and at some point the game itself crashes offline within the first round of the day.. always, therefore I stopped playing 2 weeks ago.
I had your problem once in that time .. I solved it as described above!
iam no pc gamer, (xbox,ps4) but you can clear your cache with disconnect it from powersource for a few minutes
but after all read.. the actually posts in this forum!!! 😕

That does sound bad as well 😟 Loosing your infamy and the then the games keeps crashing on you ... Could be a similar issue and ... no. I just did some testing and it boils down to the same error. I guess there is too much difference between consols and pc.

In other words, now my 2nd Gang is affected with the bug and the game crashes, when I try to load them. Other gangs still work. A bit of help, would be much appreciated!

I tried reinstalling the game and reparing the DLL files, cleaning the registry, things like that ... None of this seems to help.

This Gang catches the Bug within the next 1-2 Operation Games. I have also attached the Save Files before the bug - where the gang still loads - and the Save Files after the Bug happend.

Hi, sorry you had to wait so long without any news.

We confirmed the issue and transmitted all files to the dev. This should help them to find the issue and fix it 🙂

I now have the same problem. Too bad because the game has been working perfectly well so far ... I can't play anymore. An update within 1 month would be greatly appreciated.

Didn't notice there was a reply. Thanks for that.

Quick update: I have reinstalled the game - I think there was an update - and will check it out over the weekend. Maybe the reinstall of the latest version did something. (So far reinstalling was futile ...)

-> No success. I started the latest working copy of my gang, played a round and then got the same bug. So, the last Update did not solve the issue.

Other than that, I have prepared a bootable Windows DVD, which should finally allow me to fix / exchange the DLL files. No idea if that fixes the issue and also that workaround is probably not feasable for everbody ...
-> Used it & renamend the DLL files > couple of restarts > Windows Repair kicked in and got me new DLL files -> Started my Savegame & played 1 round -> The Bug is still happening

Just had this happen to me on PS4, went to start up my escher gang this morning. game crashes on load up at 62% every time, just with this gang. tried downloading my cloud save and loading it that way, but that didn't work as it is the same exact save since it uploaded while I slept. Guess that gang is screwed now...

I have a similar problem. I wanted to start the next mission of an operation, and did not get any further than the loading screen before the game crashed to the desktop. Before that the heartbeat-indicator on the loading screen stopped moving, percentage was at 62.
I cannot get the game to run with that gang anymore, it is unplayable at the moment because I cannot get around that crash.
Veryfying files via Steam did not help.

Installing the newest NVIDIA-driver for my Geforce 1070 helped with this issue, I was able to play that mission that did not load but instead crashed before.

Well the input might still help in solving the overall issue, even for consols. Nobody likes a smartass, so sry about that 🤓, but I think it did solve my issue as well.

Also good idea -> updating the driver should have been an obvious move (on PC). I just did that (then also had a game update that is not listed on steam?) and now it seems semi-fixed.

Sometimes it works, sometimes not ...
